Plus the disgustingly slow uptake on Jodi’s part. After the second time, I just wanted to bash my head into a wall. But five times? That was a bit too far-fetched for me. Jodi just ‘happens’ to continuously cut herself, or prick her fingers, and her blood just so ‘happens’ to fall on some unfortunate creature. The premise was intriguing, but things seemed waaaay too convenient. If she can’t figure out how to control her power, history will repeat itself, and her race will become extinct. As if that isn’t difficult enough, Jodi discovers she’s the chosen one who has to save the rest of her kind from perishing at the hands of Hades. She has to leave her old, normal life behind before she hurts the people she loves. Jodi’s deadly to the living and even more deadly to the deceased. We also see a new side of Alex, the jelaous and frankly, a little jerk side of him. more He comes to the school and he and Jodi have a connection which doesnt sit well with Alex. Jodi is growing up, she needs to take much more responsibilities in this book to honor her deal with Hades but she also has a lot of decisions to make. I love Jodi and Alex and the world Kelly Hashway created with all the mythology. Review 2: This book takes you on a ride you wont soon forget.

The ending wasn't surprising I knew that the author wouldn't leave the precious characters from book one just hanging. This was a good sequel but I found it a bit slow up until the last few chapters. He was a very intriguing, compelling and mysterious character and I found myself fascinated with the guy. Review 1: Not as good as the first, however I did enjoy the addition of Chase.
